Frequently Asked Questions

Kaly is a platform focused on helping patients find exactly the right medical provider for their unique conditions, concerns, and care needs.
After asking a few questions about your care needs, Kaly matches you with the providers best suited to help. A ‘deep dive’ into each of our medical provider’s profiles allows you to quickly see each provider’s most commonly treated conditions and frequently performed procedures, so you can always feel confident that you’re in the best possible hands.

For example: If you’re looking for a surgical solution for your herniated disc, we’ll find you an amazing local spine surgeon who performs cervical fusions on a daily basis - and who accepts your insurance plan.
Yes, booking appointments on Kaly is free for patients. Medical providers pay a monthly subscription fee to appear on the platform.

Our ranking algorithm is formulated to help patients find highly reputable providers with the specific expertise to best answer their health needs.
Our algorithm was intentionally built to help combat the inherent bias against disadvantaged groups found in online medical reviews. For example, it is proven that female providers are more harshly reviewed online than their male counterparts. By taking more factors into account, we can create a fairer system for everyone.

At Kaly, this is just a part of our mission to help address the social and economic inequalities of the medical system in everything we do.
To list their practice on our platform, each provider has to submit written documentation of their medical credentials, licenses, and diplomas. However, as Kaly is a medical appointment booking platform, - we do not provide medical advice or treatment. We recommend you perform your own due diligence including cross references with consumer health agencies, your local state medical board, or your health insurance company.
Most providers work within a small group practice. General online review sites such as Google and Facebook organize the reviews within the overall business and not by individual providers, causing our algorithm to surface reviews that may not be directly applicable to the provider you are researching. However, reviews of the shared staff and facilities can be highly informative in choosing the right provider.
Prior to your visit, your medical provider will contact you directly with any required patient agreement and intake forms. You will receive a link via text message, email, and on your Kaly dashboard twenty minutes before your visit begins.

The telemedicine visit is optimized for use on smartphones, tablets, and desktop computers. For best results, we recommend that you are in a quiet location with a high speed internet connection.
Kaly is a platform focused on helping patients find the right medical provider for their unique care needs. We also help providers find the kind of patients they are most interested in treating. Whether it’s a routine visit, or something more urgent, most patients don’t know which kind of provider would be best suited to help them. By matching them with the right providers, we aim to reduce unnecessary, unsatisfactory, and expensive healthcare appointments, and ensure providers are only matched with the patients that are right for them.
By asking patients a few questions, our algorithms can quickly understand the level and type of care they need. To find their best match, we take into account how well a provider’s specific expertise can answer their needs, as well as logistical factors like their insurance policies and office proximity. Then it’s just a few clicks for patients to easily book an in-person or telemedicine visit.
Kaly is free to join and use for the rest of 2021. In 2022, we will be charging a $299 monthly subscription fee for unlimited patient bookings. For more details, please see our pricing page here.
Absolutely not.
Trust us, as a physician owned and founded platform, we know your pain. Our Medical Advisory Board consists of active, practicing physicians who are in your shoes. Not only are pay-per-booking platforms bad for business, but are inherently unethical as well, as these models price out patients with low reimbursing insurance, and decrease access for senior, low-income, and disabled communities. As a health equity focused company, we pledge to never, ever charge per booking.
We are launching with the specialities that typically cause the highest levels of inefficiency and strain on our healthcare system, such as musculoskeletal medicine, dentistry, and dermatology. We aim to continue broadening our range of specialities to cover most fields of outpatient healthcare. Request to be added to our waitlist here.
We are initially launching in New York City, followed by the surrounding tri-state area. Request to be added to our waitlist here.
We value the input from all of our providers. Please email your suggestions to hello@kaly.com. Kaly is designed as a mobile friendly website, with our telemedicine visits optimized for both desktop and mobile. However, for best integration with EHR systems, we recommend desktop use.
At Kaly, we understand first hand how important your online reputation is. Please see our fair and transparent review policy here.
On your review dashboard, simply click the ‘request to delete’ button on the review in question. Our team will review your request as soon as possible.
As providers, we understand how frustrating or hurtful negative reviews can be to your practice, but a review platform that readily scrubs all negative reviews is neither transparent nor trustworthy. Instead, we highly encourage you to post a written response to any negative reviews that you may receive, helping create a fair platform that our patients can trust.
Reviews sourced from Kaly can only be written by patients who have booked an appointment with the provider. This type of closed review system provides the highest validity to the provider’s online reputation.
Currently, the scheduling availability can only be updated manually. However, EHR scheduling integration is currently under development and will be available in the near future.
We advise that you or your scheduling assistant updates your appointment schedule frequently throughout the day to reflect your current availability.
No, the two hour business hour delay is built into the system to allow practices time to complete administrative duties - like verifying insurance benefits, and for patients to receive and complete their intake forms.

Prior to the visit, we recommend that you send your patient any required agreement and intake forms. Fifteen minutes prior to your scheduled time, you will receive a text message and email with the link for the telemedicine visit. You can also find the telemedicine link by logging into your Kaly provider dashboard by clicking on ‘waiting room’ in the top right corner.

The telemedicine visit is optimized for use on a phone, tablet, and desktop computer, but to ensure the most optimal visit, we recommend that you are using a high speed internet connection. Even though the visit is via telemedicine, patients will be allowed to review the overall presentation of the visit - therefore we recommend finding a quiet, bright, and clean location and wearing professional attire.

If you are running more than a few minutes late, it is paramount that your staff reach out to your patient, as patients expect you to be on time.
Kaly aggregates publicly available databases on healthcare providers as a free resource for consumers, patients, and other medical professionals to improve access to relevant medical information. The collection and distribution of this publicly available data does not require the permission or participation of the listed provider. If your publically available National Provider Identifier (NPI) is active, we are unable to remove or suppress your profile. If you are a practicing provider and the published information is outdated or incorrect, we advise you to claim your profile for free to update your records.
If the provider no longer has an active NPI, please email us at hello@kaly.com.
We advise you to claim your free profile. Once claimed, you will be able to write a written response to the review.
